The College of Psychologists of Ontario is not just a professional organization, it is a very political one.
.
· The opinions expressed by Jordan Peterson are backed by science.
· The OPS was adopted a very political, a very Woke stance on several issues.
· If the OPS holds opinions that can be backed by science that differ from those of Jordan Peterson, then it has the right to state them in a public forum.
· The OPS’ rights do not differ from those of Jordan Peterson.
.
Until recently OPS disciplinary actions have been limited to matters of the professional conduct of its members that have had direct impacts on patience. A typical example would be some form of sexual misconduct in the behaviour of a psychologist. In the case of Peterson, the OPS extended that responsibility in several ways.
.
· It decided that it would investigate complaints that were not only initiated by individuals who were not patients, but most typically did not even reside in Ontario.
· It decided that it would grant itself rights that it had never tried to exercise before.
· It did so in the belief that it would be backed by Ontario’s very activist judicial system.
.
That last point requires some expansion.
.
Judges are expected to interpret existing law and make their decisions based on Common Law. They are not expected to be activists and implement decisions based on their personal political beliefs. Given that most of Ontario’s judges were appointed by Justin Trudeau, and many have made contributions to the Liberal Party of Canada, that can be VERY PROBLEMATIC.
.
I’ve stated numerous times that there are two things that could trigger a low-level Civil War in Canada. Keep in mind that Civil Wars do more than hurt people’s feelings, … some of them die.
.
· The first would be censorship by the government or attacks on our Freedom of Expression.
· The second is a loss in trust of our Justice System.
.
The OPS has managed to simultaneous commit both of those offences.
.
Here are the names of the three judges that presided in the CPO vs Peterson case. I’ll leave it you to do the necessary research and determine if these individuals represent the Will of the People or that of the Woke establishment. Keep in mind that there is a very large number of Canadian citizens who will view these issues as a hill worth dying on.
